Settling into life...

Life with the ladybug is settling into a nice routine as we learn her and she learns us. We have had a great week together as we have been to Abigail's doctor where she received a clean bill of health. The picture of her in her car seat is on the way to the doctor - notice her looking out the window and enjoying the scenery.

Abigail has been sleeping well during the night and has been playing with us during the day. Monday she experienced her first bath and, after some apprehension, she seemed to enjoyed it.

You can see from some of these pictures that Abigail enjoys bonding with Dad on the recliner and Reilly too has joined our bonding time.

She is growing each day in personality and brings us such joy...

The Ladybug has landed!

Abigail Jane Weaver arrived home Saturday and spent the day settling in and getting to know her surroundings. Her first night at home went very well, she awakened every three hours to eat and then promptly went back to sleep. So far she is loving her new home and Reilly and Rudie have welcomed her with open paws...

Here are some pictures of Abby getting ready to come home with Mom and some shots at home...

7 lbs 10 ounces, 21 inches long, meet Abigail Jane Weaver

She's here!!!! Abigail Jane joined us at 2.40 am April 22, 2009 and what an amazing addition she has made to our home already!! Laurel and Abigail are both doing well and recovering from Abigail's transition from the womb to the world.

Abigail has a peaceful countenance and is amazing to hold. She recognizes our voices and follows our voices to find us when we talk to her. We are so excited for all of our family and friends to meet her and share our joy.

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers throughout our pregnancy. We have been so blessed throughout our journey!

Thanks also for checking our blog - we would love to hear from you.

The time is almost here...

After 290 days of pregnancy, we have almost reached our destination, parenthood!! Today we enjoyed an excellent lunch at the newly remodeled Subway at Waterlick Road where we shared a most tasty Turkey sub on Herb & Garlic bread. Following an evening of quiet bliss we enjoyed our last dinner out by ourselves at TGIFridays, dining on a mix of salmon and shrimp with lots of broccoli! :)

So here we are, ready to make our phone call Tuesday morning to schedule our induction. We have enjoyed so much our journey and hearing from all of our friends and family. Tomorrow we begin our blessed journey into parenthood....

Tom Petty once said...

that the waiting is the hardest part. At this point, we must agree!

Thursday we had a doctor's appointment with an ultrasound to make sure Abigail is still protected and healthy in her environment and she passed with flying colors. She did not, however, appear interested in coming to see us just yet. So, we have scheduled an induction Tuesday April 21. We are still counting on her coming before Tuesday.

A friend yesterday told us that, with baby girls, they come on their own time, usually late, and it is a pattern to get used to since she will keep us waiting the rest of her life!! :) I don't know if that is statistically true but it was in her case and Abigail seems to be really enjoying her environment now... :)

We will keep you posted as more developments occur. If you did not receive the text message this week to keep everyone instantly updated but want to, email bweave@gmail.com with your mobile phone number and we will add you to the list.

Happy Sunday!!

The waiting game

We are now two days past the scheduled due date for Abby's arrival so we have begun the waiting game. It is amazing that, using the ultrasound, they can, at 10 weeks, determine which day our daughter should arrive. All along the measurements taken at our appontments have followed along and so, here we are, two days later than a machine said we should expect our bundle of joy...

Today we had an doctor's appointment in which they measured Abby's heartbeat for about 20 minutes and found everything exactly as it should be. We are scheduled Thursday afternoon for another appointment in which they will do an ultrasound and discuss next steps, if necessary. We will update Thursday night about our visit, assuming Abigail has not arrived yet... :)

Reilly got to ride with dad today in the front seat on his way to the spa. He was in great need of a bath and nail clipping and the fine folks at Petsmart always take great care of him. As you can see from this picture, he enjoys riding in the truck...

That's all for now - we will update more soon....

April 11, 2009

Today is our expected delivery date and we are ready!!! :) Yesterday we had a doctor's appointment where we found that everything is exactly how is should be and our baby will soon be here. How soon you ask? That we do not know - our baby could be here any time now.

This morning we took Reilly for a walk in our neighborhood and then went to IHOP for an excellent breakfast - see the pictures below :)

Today is considered moving day at the Master's golf tournament in Augusta, GA (www.masters.com) - could it be moving day for us too??? :)
Hope your Saturday is excellent - more to follow...

One day....

It is another sunny day in Lynchburg as we wait on Abigail's arrival. Thanks to everyone who is checking on us and offering suggestions to hasten her arrival. Today we tried something different - lunch at Hardee's!! :) Here is a picture of Laurel with our friends Bill & Marilee Earle.

Hey Bill - thanks for lunch!! :)
We have a doctor's appointment today at 3.00 where we will talk about where we are and learn their thoughts for the future. Tomorrow is Abigail's due date so we think that she might just be a planner like us and be ready when we wake up Saturday morning... :)

4 days updated

Here is Reilly helping Laurel Tuesday afternoon - notice the acute and active state in which he is keeping watch :)

4 days....

We are inching closer to Abby's arrival! The past couple of days have been pretty uneventful as we have been visiting with family and friends as we wind down for the final days. Sunday we enjoyed 75 degrees and lots of sun so Laurel, Abby and their personal guard beagle Reilly worked on their tan :)

So we are enjoying our waiting and ready for Abby's arrival! More to follow....

39 Weeks!!!!

7 days to go until Abigail's expected delivery. She is moving and growing and active and is getting ready for her entrance. She has really begun moving her body all over and Laurel's whole body moves now when Abby moves.

Lynchburg today is sunny and beautiful! Laurel and Reilly toured the neighborhood with me this morning and then Laurel spent some quality time with Jane and Anna. Rudie and Reilly kept watch over the house to make sure nothing happened, as you can see from this picture.

Hope that this finds everyone doing well - we will post more soon!
